New Volkswagen Golf SV

New Volkswagen Golf SV

New Volkswagen Golf SV

A bigger and more useful version of the Golf is present in the Golf SV, an MPV with fun driving dynamics and a spacious, upmarket interior

Wider, taller and bigger than its predecessor, the new Volkswagen Golf SV preserves the familiarity of the Golf, whilst adding a few distinctive features, most notably creases on the bonnet and extended side windows. The cabin also preserves the successful recipe that has made Volkswagen cars so popular, featuring high-quality materials and a logically laid-out dashboard with cleanly-designed controls. The driver's seat is a bit higher, so there's more visibility, whilst at the rear passengers can enjoy more leg and head room.

All SV engines have plenty of power and there are many options to choose from, whether you prefer petrol or diesel. Ideal for everyday journeys, the petrol line-up starts with two versions of the 1.2-litre, with 84 and 108bhp, whilst at the higher end of the scale sits the BlueMotion 1.0-litre, with 123 or 148bhp. More suitable for those who travel extensively, the diesel engines offer better fuel economy whilst still providing enough power - the 2.0-litre TDI manages a sprint of 0-62mpg in 9.2 seconds. The new SV provides the same quality driving experience as the Golf, with responsive and sharp steering, and a good suspension that works well on city streets and country lanes. There are four trim levels, S, SE, GT and BlueMotion. All models come with air-conditioning and a touchscreen. The SE trim also features a multifunction steering wheel, alloy wheels and several extra storage options, whilst the GT trim comes with a lowered sports suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels. For those who prefer to add more comfort and functionality to their car, the extra packs provide plenty of options, with a stereo audio system, parking sensors and an upgraded sat nav available.

Safety & Economy

The Golf SV has received the maximum five star Euro NCAP rating, with very good safety features, including seven airbags, city break assist, parking assistance and electronic stability control and more. In terms of fuel economy, even the 1.2-litre petrol engine returns 56.5mpg, whilst the most frugal option, the 1.6-litre BlueMotion diesel gets 76.3mpg, with emissions of under 100g/km of CO2, exempting the car from annual road tax.

Perfect for Families Well-built, durable, comfortable and spacious, the new Volkswagen Golf SV will please many drivers and is especially suitable as a family vehicle.
