New Nissan Leaf

New Nissan Leaf

Description

New Nissan Leaf

With a spacious, practical cabin and hybrid-only running costs, the Nissan Leaf is a capable small car that is perfect for running around cityscapes.

Appearance

As the first mainstream car powered exclusively by electricity, the Nissan Leaf has lead the way in terms of alternative fuel. The new version has a unique design with an aerodynamic shape and elegant curves that work well in motion and lend the car a graceful appearance. The interior is more conventional, bar the range gauge replacing the fuel gauge. Comfortable seats and a silent cabin ensure more relaxing journeys, also enhanced by an efficient suspension.

Performance

Getting the car on the move is completed in three short steps: touch the start button, choose 'D' and press the acceleration. The 108bhp electric motor can reach speeds of up to 89mph and will reach 62mph from standstill in 11.5 seconds. A full charge will take up to 8 hours, but with a charging point the battery can reach 80% in just 30 minutes. After the 2013 redesign process, the Leaf came out lighter than before, enhancing the car's performance and efficiency. Agile in traffic and equipped with a better suspension than the first model, the new version is comfortable to drive and to travel in, both around town and across the motorway. At launch there was only one Leaf, but in 2013 three trims were introduced, Visia, Acenta and Tekna. The features are vast and varied, ranging from black wing mirrors, illuminated charging point and chrome door handles in the entry-level model to seven-speaker Bose audio system, LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels on the top-spec trim. The Acenta comes with a quick charging port, cruise control, remote charger and remote heating amongst others, and is expected to be the most popular version of the new Leaf.

Safety & Economy

With a claimed range of 124 miles per charge, a cost of approximately £2 per full battery charge and zero emissions, the Leaf is an attractive choice for many. In terms of safety, the new model comes with a five-star rating received after going through Euro NCAP crash tests, and a range of features that include six airbags, ABS, ISOFIX child-seat anchoring points, and electronic brake distribution.

Conclusion

Perfect for Families & Business Owners The new Nissan Leaf is more efficient and comfortable than ever before. It will suit drivers who prefer green cars and it's a clever investment for business owners as it currently exempts the driver from benefit-in-kind tax. At home on city streets, the Leaf looks distinctive and performs well.
