Protecting your bike from theft

Motorcycle theft

There are a growing number of opportunistic motorcycle thefts where the vehicle is stolen using the keys.

Caution should be taken at all times to remove keys whilst the vehicle is left unattended as thefts arising from motorcycles whilst the keys are left in the ignition are not covered under this insurance.

The main places where such thefts occur are:

  • On the forecourt while paying for petrol;

  • On the driveway - while defrosting the motorcycle or getting items from your property.

With the improvement of motorcycle security, keys are increasingly being stolen from properties. At all times ensure your motorcycle keys are hidden from sight of visitors to your property.
