Ports and Ferry services

Travelling by car and ferry to the Continent is often the most convenient mode of travel for disabled travellers, with greatly improved accessibility and better facilities on board ferries. Ports have also improved their facilities to cater for disabled travellers.

But before you travel, check what facilities ferry companies and ports have for disabled passengers. You should usually be able to find these on their websites. It may also be advisable to contact them directly to see if you’ll need any special assistance or arrangements, such as a wheelchair accessible cabin.
