Planning your Trip
If you´re going on a long trip it´s always a good idea to plan it in advance, making a note of the availability of services with disabled facilities en route.
From October 2004 the Disability and Discrimination Act requires that all roadside services, such as restaurants, bars and service stations, provide full disabled access and facilities, such as toilets.
Plus, the Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR) operate the National Key Scheme (NKS) for disabled toilets. You can get a key by calling RADAR on 020 7250 3222 or order one online at radar.org.uk.
An easy way to plan your route is by using the RAC Routeplanner. It gives you detailed step-by-step directions, with driving distances, estimated journey times and notorious traffic hotspots.
