To save you time we base your quote on some assumptions, please confirm you meet these criteria

  • You are a UK resident (our UK definition includes N. Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man).

  • You are under 70 years of age (the policyholder must be aged 16 or over). Get further information if any traveller is aged 70 or over.

  • You have never had travel insurance refused, cancelled or any special terms imposed.

  • You have not received any criminal convictions for fraud, dishonesty or deception in the last 5 years.

  • You have had less than 3 travel insurance claims in the last 3 years.

  • You have not received advice, medication or treatment for any medical condition in the last 12 months.

  • You are not aware of any reason why a planned trip will be cancelled or cut short e.g. illness of a relative, close business associate or someone else upon whose health your trip depends.

  • You have not already commenced the trip you wish to cover.

  • You are taking this insurance for the purposes of a conventional holiday or business trip involving clerical or administrative tasks only (maximum of 5 business trips per year with an Annual Multi-trip policy).

  • No trip will exceed your chosen trip duration limit (a maximum of 120 days for a Single Trip policy or either 31, 45, 60 or 90 days for an Annual Multi-trip policy) or 21 days for winter sports holidays.

What to do if you have a complaint?

We hope that you will be very happy with the service that we provide. However, if for any reason you are unhappy with it, we would like to hear from you.

In the first instance, please telephone us on 0800 404 6350. London and Edinburgh Insurance Company Limited is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Scheme for complaints from private individuals, certain small businesses, charities and trusts. If you have complained to us and we have been unable to resolve your complaint, you may be entitled to refer it to this independent body. Following the complaints procedure does not affect your right to take legal action. Further details of our complaints procedure can be found in your insurance booklet, or may be obtained from your usual RAC Direct Insurance contact.

Peace of mind Our obligations are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). If we were unable to meet our obligations, you could be entitled to compensation from this scheme, depending on the type of insurance and the circumstances at the time.
