Driving abroad

What is covered?
Your insurance will automatically provide the minimum cover required to travel in most European countries.
This can be upgraded for an additional annual premium of £25.00 to give you the same cover as you have in the UK for travel within the following countries:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (including Monaco), Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
If the country you wish to travel in does not appear in the list above, please call 0800 404 7636 and one of our advisors will help you.
In the unlikely event that you are asked to provide proof of insurance abroad, your current UK motor insurance certificate should provide adequate evidence that you are meeting the legal requirements of the country you are visiting. The back of the certificate also explains this in French, German, Spanish and Italian.
You should carry your certificate of motor insurance, along with this booklet and the enclosed European accident statement with you at all times.
For greater protection and peace of mind, why not add our European Breakdown Protection.
Please be aware that Legal cover and Courtesy Car cover will only extend for use in Europe if European Breakdown Protection is also purchased
