Fitting costs for parts and batteries are included in your membership.

Did you know that we attend 500,000 battery-related call-outs and fit over 90,000 parts per year. The most common of which are ignition coils, alternators and fan belts.

If you need a replacement part to get you going again and we can fit it for you at the roadside, we'll do so. All labour and fittings costs are included in your membership, so you only pay for the part itself.

Every patrol carries a range of high specification heavy duty batteries which cover approx. 70% of all cars. Plus, if our Patrol doesn't have the correct part or battery on the van, we'll source it for you from one of our 8,500 suppliers across UK to make sure you we get your vehicle moving again as quickly as possible.

If you call out the RAC for a flat battery problem, our Patrols carry out a number of tests on your vehicles electrical and charging systems. This is to ensure there is no underlying problem that has caused your battery to go flat. These checks include:

• A visual check of the battery and wiring.
• Current drain on the battery, just in case anything is still powered after the vehicle is switched off and locked.
• Alternator connections and drive belt condition.
• Charge rate tests, to ensure the voltage and current output meet the vehicle specification.
• Starter motor current test.
• Finally an electronic battery test is done to check the condition of the battery.

• Three-year roadside guarantee - If we find any battery we've fitted is faulty within the first three years, we'll repair/replace it at the roadside.
• We'll even recycle your old battery for you
