Lollipop ladies in Scotland have had their sticks fitted with cameras to catch dangerous drivers

Lollipop ladies in Scotland are helping to put a stop to dangerous driving by having their sticks fitted with cameras as part of a new scheme.

Three schools in Glasgow are trialling the "lollicam" after pilot schemes south of the border were successful.

The secret cameras are switched on when the lollipop poles are held vertically.

The recordings could be used by police as evidence against dangerous drivers.

The pilot is being launched by services provider Cordia at Knightswood Primary who plan to roll it out across Glasgow if it proves successful.
