Toyota is set to recall around 40 luxury Lexus cars in the UK to fix potential steering issues.
The move is part of a worldwide recall of nearly 11,500 Lexus LS 600h and LS 460 vehicles fitted with variable gear ratio steering.
According to Toyota the defect means under certain conditions the steering may not work properly for a few seconds.
The car maker has notified the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency of plans to recall the cars in the UK.
It said: "This matter has been under investigation by Toyota Motor Corporation since March this year who have received approximately 10 complaints in Japan.
"No accidents have been reported relating to this issue and we have received no reported cases of this concern in the UK market."
In recent months Toyota has had to recall around eight million cars worldwide including many thousand in the UK.
