Vehicle tracking firm HPI is now offering details on car performance with every history check, giving used-car buyers a wider picture before purchasing a vehicle.
In partnership with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the car checking service will now provide information on fuel consumption as well as informing consumers whether a second hand car has been stolen, written-off or has unpaid finance payments.
Nicola Johnson, Consumer Services Manager at HPI said: "The new data from the SMMT will really help give used-car buyers the fullest possible picture when buying their next used car,"
"All too often when purchasing a vehicle, buyers rely on just what they can see. This extra data, alongside the information provided by the HPI Check, will ensure they get the vehicle's specification information, as well as fuel economy figures."
HPI checks tell the buyer about: vehicle specification, fuel efficiency and CO2 emission details, performance including engine layout, performance, power and specification and car dimensions.
