Jenson Button has said he will work alongside new team-mate Lewis Hamilton in a bid to bring the F1 championship to McLaren.
The 2009 world champion said he and Hamilton must work closely if they are to mount a serious challenge for this year's title.
Button's comments came as he prepared to meet his new team-mate for the first time as colleagues after making the controversial switch from the former Brawn team.
McLaren said Button and Hamilton - who won the championship in 2008 - will be treated equally. However, some commentators have predicted that Button will come second to Hamilton.
Button, at the launch of iPhone on Vodafone in the UK, said: "I'm going to be spending quite a lot of time with Lewis over the next couple of months before the first race and I'm looking forward to working with him.
"He has a lot of experience in Formula One, good and bad experiences so I think both of us with our experience can help this team move forward.
"We both understand that we have to work closely together to make anything happen this year."
