Nissan model named Van of the Year

Nissan's new NV200 small van has won the Japan-based company the 2009 International Van of the Year award.
The model found favour with the 23-member jury of European journalists for its car-like exterior dimensions and cargo capacity of a much larger van.
Currently being rolled out to dealer showrooms, the NV200 has the lowest floor height in its sector and can stack 2 Euro pallets at the same time.
Nissan claims its van offers 25% more load volume than the average from competitors.
Priced at £12,090 plus VAT, the NV200 starts out in the UK in the van form, but Nissan has promised a Combi version with a 7-seat option next February.
The firm has recently confirmed that after the pioneering Leaf, the NV200 will become their second all-electric model.
Last month, it was honoured with the Van of the Year title from the Institute of Transport Management for its versatility and economy.
