Fuel consumption devices

Eco tyres, fuel optimisers, fuel savers, ECU remaps and custom chips are all devices which claim to improve your fuel consumption.
However, do they actually reduce the volume of fuel you use?
Obvious things like correct tyre pressures and off-loading unnecessary weight help, but the main contributory factor is still you!
Yes that’s right; the way you drive has the greatest effect on fuel consumption. Light acceleration, getting into a higher gear when cruising and using the gears when slowing down could greatly improve your fuel consumption.
If these devices held the only key to fuel savings manufacturers would have installed them in the first place.

The life of the battery and the price of the auto are the two components being addressed right now with electric vehicles. To get good mileage on your battery you are looking at paying around $100,000 requiring a fairly large auto loan. If you need to pay less you aren't going to get good mileage on your cars battery. With how many corporations are trying to create an affordable battery with a long life, someone is bound to advance technology enough soon. You will find numerous issues that nevertheless need to be worked out like how to proceed in a power outage, but besides things like that, I can't wait to be able to afford an electric car.

HOW TO SAVE MONEY, LIVES, RED-TAPE & FRUSTRATION With all the talk of Government savings, how about making a real difference? If all cars, lorries and trucks were fitted with an “Engine Governor”, set at the maximum speed that is allowed on both UK and European roads, there would be no need for at least half the Traffic Police. They could be used to police the streets of our towns. This would save lives, as the traffic would be moving at about the same speed. No more fines for speeding, thus reducing all the red tape and time, in Court cases. It would reduce “Greenhouse gases” and be good for the Motorist’s pocket and the environment. It would reduce the number of surveillance cameras required, not only reducing frustration but also saving money on buying, fitting, repairing, maintaining and manning these intrusions. It would reduce the ware and tear of the road surfaces as there would be less need to break. It would save drivers, by increasing the miles that a set of tyres will last. It would provide much needed jobs in the private sector by stimulating the production of the required equipment. Thus providing increase in Workers Tax and National Insurance.
