How to redeem your free fuel

If you purchased new breakdown cover or car insurance from us between 20th Feb and 30th April 2013 you may be entitled to up to £100 of free fuel.

How to claim your RAC prepaid Visa® debit card

  1. Just go to and login using your unique reference number [URN] & policy number. You would have received these approximatly 10 days after the start date of your Membership/Policy.
  2. You will then be required to enter a valid email address, accept the terms and conditions and follow the prompts on the screen.
  3. Within 60 days of registering you will receive your card and a separate email with your card activation code. Once you’ve received your RAC prepaid Visa® debit card, you will need to activate it straight away and £12.50 will immediately be available on your card.  

How your RAC prepaid Visa debit card works

  • To activate your card and retrieve your PIN please call 0844 800 6436 and follow the instructions of the automated phone system.  By activating your card you are accepting Visa card holder terms and conditions. You will have been shown a copy of these when you first registered for your card. You can find a copy of these at
  • Your card will be credited with your first instalment amount straight away. 
  • To claim your next instalment you will need to log into your account by visiting and enter your unique reference number and either your breakdown Membership or insurance policy number previously sent to you.
  • Once you have logged into your account simply click the activate button to release your instalment amount. For your ease, we have included a calendar on your account page notifying you of the dates you need to log in and claim your instalment amount by.
  • You can also view your transaction history, check your balance and contact customer services.
