Who regulates us

R.A.C. Motoring Services (in respect of insurance mediation activities only), RAC Financial Services Limited and RAC Insurance Limited are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

The Financial Services Authority is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services in the UK.

Our service - RAC Insure and RAC Rescue

We offer a wide range of insurance products provided by a range of companies.

Depending upon the type of insurance product you wish to purchase, some products may be provided by a single insurer, a limited number of insurers or a panel of insurers. Details are shown in terms and conditions and/or on relevant web pages, or are available on request. Call us on 0844 891 3111.

You will not receive advice or a recommendation from us. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice on whether the products meet your requirements.


How to complain

The home page of each product available for purchase through this website contains policy terms and conditions, which includes information on how to register a complaint about a relevant product or service, and where your complaint should be directed.

If we are unable to settle your complaint with us, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Further information is available at www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

Some products are provided through partner organisations, and are not available for purchase through this website. The partner organisation will provide you with details of how to register a complaint in relation to products they provide.


Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

R.A.C. Motoring Services (in respect of insurance mediation activities only), RAC Financial Services Limited and RAC Insurance Limited are covered by the FSCS.

You may be entitled to compensation if we are unable to meet our obligations, as covered by the Scheme. This depends on the type of business, the organisation involved and the circumstances of the claim.

For non-compulsory classes of insurance (eg breakdown cover), you would be covered for 90% of the claim, with no upper limit.

For compulsory classes of insurance (eg third party motor insurance), you would be covered for 100% of the claim, without any upper limit.
