Yes, you will need to pay an excess if you make a claim on your policy. The excess amount will be shown on your certificate of insurance.

Do you offer new-for-old replacement?

Yes, we'll normally replace your household items with new ones of the same specification. In some cases - such as for clothes and linens - there are restrictions due to wear and tear.

How can I change the address on my home insurance policy?

Is accidental damage covered by RAC Home Insurance?

RAC Buildings Insurance covers accidental damage to: sanitary ware, solar panels, ceramic hobs, fixed glass and double glazing, underground pipes, cables, drains, sewers and septic tanks.

RAC home contents insurance covers accidental damage to: TVs, audio equipment, computers (not designed to be portable), disc players and recorders, VCRs, radios and satellite decoders.

You can extend your accidental damage cover for buildings or contents for an additional premium; just select the cover level you want on the quote form.

We don't offer home insurance cover for residential caravans, mobile homes or houseboats.

If you are a tenant in a rented property, you can only purchase contents cover.

How many times a year can I get help if I purchase the Home Emergency Policy?

There is no maximum number of claims annually. For each one there is a £500 limit for call out, labour, parts and materials.
