Hi everyone,
I'm planning on swapping engines on my good old Nissan Micra March k10 car and although MA10 engine is very reliable, it drinks a lot of juice (+ it's got an automatic gearbox) and I need more hp under the boot . I'm thinking of putting a CG13 engine from a NIssan Micra K11+ manual gearbox. In order to do so, I need advice from y'all and especially those who have done engine swapping before. Is it worth a try? Easy or tough job to do? How much time to do the whole job? tips? looking forward to your replies! Thanks |

hi pacocalypse
it would be a mission to wire up the ecu, the tank (with internal pump) is a different shape, the exhaust system takes a different route, and the o/s chassis/engine mount needs cut-n-shutting frank |

So you reckon it's worth it or not?
If I get an electric fuel pump from a K11, do I really need to remove its fuel tank as well or can I just mod the one on my K10? I relieve the toughest bits are to install the manual gearbox + shaft (mine is k10A) and of course the chassis/ engine mountings which require some welding. Don't you? Any other useful tips and advice? thanks |

richj, a member on micra sports club, is doing a similar project, using a k11,1.0 pre98 g/box, iirc, tho it,s still "work in progress" frank |

Your best bet here is to find some owners websites/fan clubs on the net. Owners will always try something new and you will always here NEVER SAY NEVER. Anything can be done if you've got the time and money.
Personally i think you easiest option is to find a written off K11 (rear end if poss) and then use all necessary parts, but you will have to have engine mounts fabricated. |

yeah I know what you mean!
best ratio investments/results given is, as you said, to buy a k11 and remove what's necessary for the transplant. I've started browsing around the web and here's what I've found so far. http://www.micra.org.uk/showthread.php?t=20199 Dude said: Basically: 'Supply, Fit, Wire in, Plumb in.. Fit any performance CG13 parts you have.. 1200-1400 depending on level of work on car inside electrics wanted..' quite a lot of quids for such an old car. Hopefully I'm quite good at mechanics so the toughest bit will be to weld the new mounting parts. If you've got any good site, please let me know. cheers |

here,s richj,s project http://www.micra.org.uk/showthread.p...=richj+project by using the pre98 1.0 k11 g/box, it means you only have to relocate the o/s engine mount frank |
