    Default Mondeo Electric Boot Release

    Hi,
I have a problem with my '02 Mondeo hatch. The Mondeo boot release is operated by the key fob, the hatch switch, or a dash switch. For some months the boot has been releasing itself intermittently. I used to just get out and re-shut it, but now it opens constantly, whenever the car is unlocked. Standing next to the car I can hear the motor operating continuously, opening and closing the lock.
Initially I suspected the dash switch, so disconnected this. For a while this seemed to help, but the problem is back with a vengeance. If there is any connection between the occurrences, it seems to be worse in cold weather! I'm thinking either a key fob or sticking hatch switch. Does anyone have any direct experience of this, and a solution? Thanks.

    Default Solved

Problem solved. Switch gets damp with pressure washing. Cold weather causes water to freeze, operates switch. Tried dying it out but still operates occasionally. New switch from Ford was 25.
