    Default Trailer Brakes

Anybody know the laws on electric trailer brakes?. I have an American trailer, Twin axle with electric brakes. I have had this for a while and since i brought it over here peaple still tell me these brakes are illegal. I have asked at my local police station and they have not got a clue. I have a brake-away kit on it in case it parts company with the truck, plus other safety features. Anybody out there know or had experience with the law on these brakes.

If you are towing behind a campervan a lot of the information you need is on the above link I believe much of the info is the same for any vehicle.

    Default trailer brakes

    Hi,
What i have is a 5th wheel unit where the coupling is in the rear of the truck like an artic unit. If i had an a frame trailer things would be a little different.
