Hi Smudger, Bought it from Makro on a cheap deal as they said its a 2007 model. They said i could update the maps online. Thay also siad i should register it online for warranty/updates etc.

Well I am afraid they told you a few porkies there?

You might be able to get the disc from the help centre, number is 01302 720006, and as mentioned earlier, the camera updates from that link I posted.

I think you might also have to buy the new road updates as well, as 2007 will be out of date now, but you can ask about that when you call, good luck

just got my self a new rac400 satnav to take with me to Scotland next week.

I was wondering what the tourist information is like on this product.

reason being, i have been on the Scottish tourist board information site and they have downloadable points of interest for you sat nav.

Problem is there only for tomtom, nav man and garmin.
This would have been ideal as it lists every castle in Scotland...

is there a way of accessing similar information for the rac400?

The first thing I did was to backup the original and bought an SD card which is the one I use.
I can send a copy by Pando which I use for large files, simple to use and free as well, if you can post your email address, I will send a copy to you.

Last time I sent a disc in the mail, it got mysteriously lost??

hi thanks for the welcome, i havent contacted the help center yet as i was hoping to get the files i need online, i think they will charge me for them if i ring them, i dont really want to pay for something that may not even be the problem.
Would you or somebody who understands this log have a look at it and see what the problem im having is becuase after seeing this log i no longer think it is anything to do with missing files, i may be wrong tho

i am also having problems with the software on the memory card and when i tried to reinstall fron the cd it says it cant find the memory card.

At the top of your printout, it looks as though the File Allocation Table was corrupt.
8.error 1: error code 4610.
9.FAT initialization failed, Return = 0x1202

Down at the end, it looks as though an identity check failed.
