Default TV hdd recorder blu ray bt sports connections

I currently watch BT sports via Sky platform, no contract just have the box. However, I would like to add a hdd recorder and blu ray player. I haven't a clue how connections would work between them. Would I cut out sky box which would stop bt sport access ? Is a combi blu ray/hdd a good idea or are there complications ? any advice to a novice appreciated.

Much as I hate to redirect discussion elsewhere, you'd be much better asking this on the http://www.avforums.com/ board

I have found You Tube to be really helpful in these situations, you can find out how to do just about everything there.

I even found a clip showing me how to fix the door trim on our car.

My BR player also connects my TV to my network. Since I use BT as my internet service, I could get BT sport in HD if I wanted. I also have access to BBC iplayer etc.

I do not believe that subscription channels like Virgin and Sky are vale for money.
