    Default Black Friday

We've seen on the news how the Black Friday sales can develop into a group of rowdy shoppers actually fighting in the store. Now comes Cyber Monday - Samsung and Ideal World are two of the companies promoting this.
What next? Terror Tuesday / Wrangling Wednesday and Thumping Thursday ???

No one has explained to me who thought up the expression "Black Friday"

Why do the press thrust these new words and phrases down our throats continuously?

Black Friday, is a time when all the electronic companies in the USA sell off their old stock at knock down prices, it times with their thanks giving weekend, so most folk are on a holiday weekend. It also clears out their ware houses making room for their Christmas stock.

I heard this on the radio today, as it was a question asked on the phone in program,

I imagine that it is some kind of reference to the original Black Monday on October 19, 1987 when all the financial markets took a nosedive.
