Warranties on a used vehicle
I my son purchased a used car for £1850.00 on the 20/02/2012 and the turbo has just blown taking the engine with it,warranty was not mentioned when buying the car, where do we stand ?

Under the Sale of Goods Act the dealer has to give you 6 months warranty (assuming it was NOT a private sale). If he protests, as he will, call Consumer Direct and ask them to pass your complaint to Trading Standards.

Thank you people,so just to clear up wether we asked for warranty or not,the dealer has to honour six months, yes?

The dealer does not have a choice; it is a legal requirement so the answer is yes.

Six ? - thought it was three! - or has this now altered?
