Female motor writers from across 12 countries made up the jury for the Women's World Car of the Year awards which has announced its winners for 2012.
The voting comprised of four different categories; Family Car, Luxury Car, Sports Car, Economy Car and an overall, Supreme Winner award.
The judges are given voting criteria from which they award points to different cars.
The Range Rover Evoque was voted as Luxury Car of the Year and overall supreme car, clinching the majority of the votes.
The BMW 3-Series won the Family Car of the Year award, with the Porsche 911 being named as the Sports Car of the Year and the Honda Civic was voted Economy Car of the Year.
Director, Paul McCormick, said: "It as a close-run race but there were some clear leaders in each category as votes arrived."
