Luxury car brand Aston Martin and Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre have announced the launch of their new revolutionary creation - the AMVOX2 DB9 Transponder timepiece.
The latest gadget - the third in the series launched byAston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre - allows the owner of a DB9 to lock or unlock their sports car by pressing on the sapphire crystal of their watch.
The DBS Transponder watch, released two years ago, was the first mechanical watch that could control access to a luxury sports car. It came with a built-in micro transmitter system to lock and unlock the Aston Martin DBS.
Pressing the Open position on the watch glass (between eight and nine o'clock) helps the driver unlock his car, while he can lock the vehicle by pressing the Close position (between three and four o'clock).
To locate the car, all the driver need to do is press simultaneously on the "Open" and "Close" rectangles. This allows the watch to emit a signal recognised by the car as a "Find Me" function. As the signal is emitted, the car's headlamps light up, without unlocking the vehicle.
