Vauxhall launches VXR SuperSport

Vauxhall is set to unveil its latest model, billed as the fastest car you can buy for under £30,000.

The new Insignia VXR SuperSport is due to make its debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

It will be available in two models; the five-door SuperSport Hatch or the Sports Tourer estate, with prices starting at £29,749 and £31,049 respectively.

A turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 petrol engine produces 321bhp and gives the car a top speed of 170mph, with 0-62mph taking 5.9 seconds or 6.1 seconds for the Sport Tourer estate.

Vauxhall has made a number of changes to the Insignia VXR SuperSport, which features a distinctive new sabre-tooth design at the front and a new integrated tailpipe exit on the rear bumper.

Inside, the car features a new instrument panel and central console design which incorporates Bluetooth-operated internet along with an eight-inch touchscreen, 3D navigation and voice control.
