People considering buying a new Vauxhall will be covered by a lifetime warranty from this month, it has been announced.
The warranty will apply to the first owner of any vehicle registered from August 2010, the car retailer said.
Drivers will need to visit their Vauxhall retailer every year for a free inspection to ensure they maintain the lifetime warranty.
Vauxhall may also be preparing to extend the scheme to second drivers, with details set to be announced by the company.
Until then drivers of new or older Vauxhall models can continue to rely on theircar insurance in the event of an accident.
Vauxhall Motors managing director Duncan Aldred said: "With the lifetime warranty, we are making a strong statement of confidence in the quality of our products and a clear intent to provide the very best customer service in the UK."
