Manchester United's Brazilian midfielder Oliveira Anderson is recovering from an accident in Portugal over the weekend, where he was dragged unconscious from the burning wreckage of his car, reports have suggested.
The footballer, who was reportedly not driving the car, and his two friends occupying the car survived the crash, after the £100,000 Audi hit a wall and flew 100ft through the air in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A spokesman for St Mark's hospital in Braga said the three occupants received only "light" injuries and were released within hours of arriving at the centre.
Anderson, whose full name is Anderson Luis de Abreu Oliveira, had reportedly spent the evening leading up to the accident at a nightclub in Braga.
He has been sidelined from playing since injuring a cruciate ligament in his knee in February.
