New figures show an 8.5% year-on-year rise in UK car production to 136,111 last month.
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the number of cars manufactured in the country during the January-November period of 2011 rose 6.1% year-on-year to 1,248,012.
New owners need to make sure that they have taken out a comprehensivecar insurance policy.
Figures show a 2.2% increase in the number of commercial vehicles (CV) produced in November, to 11,380.
During the month, engine production was 1.7% higher at 227,018. The January-November period saw a 5.3% year-on-year increase in UK engine production to 2,352,642.
Paul Everitt, chief executive of the SMMT, said: "UK vehicle and engine production continues to lead a manufacturing recovery. Despite the challenges in the eurozone, the UK motor industry expects further growth in 2012.
"Global vehicle manufacturers have committed more than £4 billion of investment into the UK motor industry, boosting confidence in the sector and securing high-value jobs for the long term."
