Hundreds of new jobs are set to be created in the UK, as a result of Toyota's decision to use its British factory to build its new-generation family-sized hatchback.
According to the carmaker, the Burnaston factory in Derbyshire will be the only European manufacturing site to construct the new hatchback.
Whether investing in a brand new hatchback or opting for a second-hand vehicle, UK drivers always need to invest in appropriatecar insurance before they take to the roads.
Under Toyota's latest plans, the Burnaston facility will benefit from a £100 million investment, while the next two years will see the creation of 1,500 extra jobs.
Toyota's motor Europe president and chief executive, Didier Leroy, added that his company's "sustainable growth" will be supported by the new UK investment.
The hatchback will be a C-segment vehicle, meaning that it will be a small family car in the sector between the supermini and the large family car.
The C-segment includes Toyota's own Auris model and cars such as the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.
