Toyota has been named the "Green Manufacturer of the Year" at the Fleet News Awards, thanks to its cleaner, more efficient, vehicles.
The prize reflects the manufacturer's impact on the hybrid car industry, and also its strategy for manufacturing.
Reducing the use of energy and natural resources is one of the firm's aims, along with cutting its waste and emissions.
Awarding Toyota with the title, the judges said the company's "single-minded focus on hybrid" was paying off, as its models were outstandingly efficient and produced low emissions.
"Its relentless approach to environmental initiatives also extends inwards with solar panels and recycling maximising the efficiency of its factories," the judges said.
"Toyota is an environmental beacon not just for the motor industry, but for every industry."
The manufacturer's Land Cruiser also picked up an award - it was named "Best All-Round 4x4" at the London ceremony.
Presenting the award, the judges said: "Land Cruiser is the perfect choice for fleets looking for a 4×4 workhorse that is equally at home lugging equipment or towing trailers around on-road as it is tackling the trickiest of off-road routes.
"It also has low running costs for this category of vehicle making it perfect for utility and bluelight fleets."
