Volkswagen has launched a deluxe version of the Touareg SUV called the R-Line, which comes with extra equipment and distinctive styling cues.
Based on the Touareg Altitude, the R-Line has 20-inch alloy wheels with unique front and rear bumpers and side skirts, complemented by R-Line badges on the front wings.
The vehicle comes complete with standard bi-xenon headlights, while dynamic curve lighting and LED daytime running lights offer a practical safety feature. They are accompanied by LED rear lights and lights on the number plates.
A full-length panoramic electric sliding glass sunroof is a prominent feature inside, while keyless entry and start and an electrically powered tailgate provide practicality.
As with all Touaregs, the R-Line has leather upholstery, a satellite navigation and audio system with eight-inch full-colour touchscreen, DAB, Bluetooth and MDI multi-device interface for iPods. It also comes with climate control, while a stop/start system and battery regeneration help boost fuel efficiency.
Prices start at £44,025 for the Touareg R-Line 204 PS with an eight-speed automatic gearbox linked to a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, and £45,645 for 245 PS. It is important to find the right level ofcar insurance before buying any new car.
