Japanese carmaker Subaru will unveil its 2011 version of the Impreza WRX STI in showrooms across the UK this month.
The manufacturer has even dropped the Impreza tag from the new model, which will simple be labelled Subaru WRX STI. A four-door saloon version of the car will also be available.
The new version features improved suspension settings, based on the Spec-C version, including a lower ride height and wider tyres.
It is not clear whether the new model will have a highercar insurance category.
New bumpers and larger rear quarter panels have been added to the new car along with standard-fit Recaro bucket seats. It also benefits from a hardened bodyshell and lighter alloy wheels leading to better response times.
The new model can reach 62mph in just 5.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 158mph, powered by the 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
The Subaru WRX STi is expected to sell for £32,995 in both the hatchback and saloon options.
