A gang of thieves in Malaysia who stole a police chief's car have abandoned the vehicle with a written apology.
The thieves stole the Proton Perdana that belonged to the police chief of central Selangor state on Thursday near a restaurant when the driver was having breakfast.
The car, which did not carry a police logo, was found in a car park area on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur with a handwritten note on its dashboard reading, "Sorry police, wrong target".
Police officer Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed only the door lock on the car had been damaged.
