An Audi A1 car, spin painted by Damien Hirst, has raised £350,000 in a charity auction organised by Sir Elton John.
A unnamed bidder bought the candyfloss pink paint-splattered car at the pop legend's annual White Tie and Tiara Ball, held in Windsor. It was described as "fully driveable and road legal".
The vehicle, which was transformed into artwork by Hirst at his Gloucestershire studio, was auctioned with a 6ft diameter canvas spin painting.
Sir Elton earlier said the special Audi A1 car was "one of the most exciting auction items we have ever had for White Tie". The vehicle is scheduled to be launched in the UK in November this year.
The event raised over £5.6 million for the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF). The glitzy bash was attended by around 700 VIPs - including Elizabeth Hurley, Lily Cole, David Walliams, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Peter Andre, Lady Gaga and Kerry Katona.
