The Superb hatch, Superb Estate, Octavia Estate and Octavia Scout also come with an automatic twin-clutch DSG transmission, adding the models toSkoda's list of four-wheel drive cars, which already includes the Yeti.
Cars fitted with the company's all-wheel drive system feature a fourth-generation Haldex clutch that is controlled electronically. The clutch directs 96% of the engine's power to the front axle in regular weather. However, in adverse weather conditions, the system immediately redirects power to the wheels for better traction
The 4×4 cars will be able to go through challenging conditions that would otherwise put a normal vehicle in a difficult situation because of this added feature.
In summer the system can also make sure than towing caravans and trailers is less difficult. Drive to the rear wheels is cut off if not in use, and that results in little adverse effect on fuel consumption.
The 4x4 models are available to order and start at £21,705.
