Skoda to help British rallying

British rallying is set to get a big boost from Skoda's UK arm, with the carmaker announcing its participation in the much-anticipated 2011 Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship.

The car manufacturer is set to become the Official Vehicle Partner for the opening round, the Rallye Sunseeker, which will be held from February 25 to 26. The round will take place in the forests close to Bournemouth and Poole.

The competition has gained prominence over the last 25 years in the rallying world, becoming one of the most awaited events for aficionados.

The 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed introduced Skoda to the event's organisers, the Southern Car Club, where the vehicle company showcased its Fabia S2000, with Freddy Loix behind the wheel.

During the Rallye Sunseeker, Skoda will provide the officials of the club with four-wheel drive vehicles such as the Yeti, Octavia Scout, Superb Hatch and Superb Estate, for use during the event.
