Czech motor manufacturer Skoda has announced its best month for sales, with 75,790 cars purchased around the world during September.
The figure includes a 28% rise on UK sales compared with the same month last year, which probably helped boostcar insurance firms by providing more customers.
The firm attributes the successful month to its popular full-efficient Greenline models, its Octavia model (the most popular vehicle worldwide) and its compact Fabia.
Skoda Auto chairman Winfried Vahland said: "With an attractive model range, Skoda has continued on its successful path during the third quarter of 2010.
"In light of the sales development to-date and the record month of September, we are confident that we will sell significantly more vehicles this year than in 2009."
