The 2015 What Car? Car of the Year award has been won by the Skoda Fabia.
In addition to the top prize, the Fabia 1.2 TSI 90 SE picked up the best small car gong too.
It was a welcome return to form for the Czech car maker, which last claimed the main award some 15 years ago. Its Skoda Octavia 1.2 TSI 105 SE also won the family car of the year award.
Jim Holder, who edits What Car? says the Fabia is fully-deserving of the main prize after beating off stiff competition from other top vehicles on sale in the UK.
The magazine's experts concluded that the Fabia was the most impressive car of the year after evaluating it and comparing it to all of its rivals.
Other big winners at the ceremony in London were the Hyundai i10 1.2 Premium, which won the best city car prize; the Audi A3 e-tron claimed the best electric car and the Ford Mondeo Estate 1.6 TDCi 120 Econetic Zetec won the award for best estate.
At the other end of the market, the Porsche Boxster 2.7 won best sports car and the Mercedes-Benz S350 CDI Bluetec L SE Line took home the luxury car award.
