Singer Bobby Brown is to spend 55 days in a Los Angeles jail after pleading no contest to driving under the influence.
The former husband of the late Whitney Houston was also given four years probation and ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol treatment programme.
Brown, 44, was handed the sentence after being arrested for drink driving in October last year. At the time of the incident he was driving on a suspended licence and was on probation for another drink-drive case.
The New Edition singer must report to jail on March 20. His lawyer Tiffany Feder had no immediate comment on the sentence.
Houston, who was married to Brown for 15 years, drowned in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub last February at the age of 48.
