The new version of the Seat Toledo saloon will actually be a slightly longer hatchback complete with the latest engine technology to help increase its fuel economy.
The 1.2 and 1.4 litre petrol TSI engines, which are the same as those in the new Skoda Rapid, will have CO2 emissions as low as 116g/km and outputs of between 74bhp and 120bhp. The car also shares its chassis with the forthcoming Skoda.
Although the car is only 40mm longer than the old Toledo it has an 80mm longer wheelbase, which is designed to provide more interior space and improve the car's handling.
When the car is released there will also be a 1.6 litre diesel model in the range with an Ecomotive 104bhp engine with CO2 emissions of 104g/km and a second diesel model, with 89bhp, will follow later in 2013. The CO2 emissions for the second diesel engine are not yet available.
All of the new Toledos will feature central locking, electric windows, six airbags and split-folding rear seats.
