Spanish carmaker Seat has unveiled the latest version of the Ibiza, which is due for UK release later this year.
The new Ibiza, which will be available in three different layouts (five-door, three-door and estate), will be powered by a choice of new petrol and diesel engines, ranging from a conventional 1.2 litre petrol to a top-end twincharged 1.4 litre version for the three-door SC set up.
The estate version of the car, the Ibiza ST, will be available with the range-topping engine for the first time in 2012, and will be dubbed the Ibiza ST FR.
The diesel models are designed to offer maximum fuel economy, with the entry-level 1.2 litre engine achieving economies of around 83mpg and sub-90g/km CO2 emissions. The top-end diesel engine will be a 2.0 litre model yielding 141 bhp.
Buyers of the new Seat will have to be careful to check the specifications of the car they are interested in, ascar insurance premiums will vary according to the model.
