The new and improved Volkswagen Scirocco is making a return to the Geneva Motor Show - forty years and more than one million sales after its debut.
Compared to its 1974 bow at the famous motoring event, observers will notice that the hatchback coupe has had its external appearance modernised and refined, including new headlights, tail lights and bumper styling.
Motorists who snap up the range-topping Scirocco R will drive a car with a distinctive look, including bespoke alloy wheels and bumpers. Eighteen-inch Cadiz alloy wheels come as standard on the R model while the rest of the range also receives new alloy wheel designs, including the option of the Talladega alloy previously reserved for the R.
New petrol range Scirocco models will also offer up to 19% more fuel efficiency despite boasting an increase in capacity and power - a 1.4-litre petrol engine with 125 PS replaces a 122 PS engine while a new 2.0-litre 180 PS unit replaces the previous 1.4-litre 160 PS unit.
New Sciroccos models will be available to order in the UK from May, with the first deliveries expected to arrive in September. More details will be available closer to launch.
