Michael Schumacher could make an F1 comeback with Mercedes GP after holding preliminary talks to replace Jenson Button.
The Daily Telegraph said Schumacher was "sounded out" about a return after the takeover of Brawn GP, who recently lost World Champion Button to McLaren.
He would line up with fellow German Nico Rosberg at the team, and work under principal Ross Brawn, who was his manager at Benetton and Ferrari, where he won his World titles.
The German 'dream team' would see Schumacher pick up the same salary Button did, joining the same team that he snubbed in the past while racing for Ferrari.
The Telegraph report added that talks were still "at an early stage".
Button has described his move to McLaren as a "fresh challenge".
