Europe's safest cars have been revealed by Euro NCAP - and the Qoros 3 Sedan has topped the list.
The vehicle is the first built in China to gain a five-star score in the safety organisation's notoriously tough crash tests.
The Renault Zoe was named best in the supermini class, while the Lexus IS300h topped the Large Family category.
Blue ribbon for the MPV class was jointly awarded to the Ford Tourneo Connect and the Kia Carens, while the best small off-road 4x4 was the Jeep Cherokee. The executive class top dog was the Maserati Ghibli saloon.
The 2013 tests were made tougher for child occupant protection scores, with more credit being awarded to manufacturers who made it easier to install the leading child seat brands. Lane breach warnings and emergency braking were also stiffly scored.
Michiel van Ratingen, Euro NCAP Secretary General, said: "The decision to reward collision avoidance technologies on new cars will encourage more widespread fitment and further improve the safety of all road users in Europe.
"We hope this will allow consumers to choose the very safest vehicles in 2014 and beyond."
