French carmaker Renault has received the first order for the new Kangoo ZE (zero emission) electric van.
The commercial vehicle is scheduled to be launched in October this year, priced at £16,990 excluding VAT.
Advertising firm JCDecaux is the first customer to place an order for the new vehicle in the UK. The deal for six vans further strengthens a longstanding relationship between the two companies.
The forthcoming Renault model is expected to be an affordable proposition for firms across the country, and the manufacturer is hoping to secure more orders for the new all-electric van in the near future.
JCDecaux is likely to use the new Kangoo ZE vans for its employees, making it easier for them to travel between sites. The firm's portfolio includes billboards, street furniture, retail and airports.
The company offers its services to over 293 million customers across 3,400 cities around the world including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow in the UK.
The zero emission van could be the ideal choice for JCDecaux's fleet requirements as the infrastructure for charging the vehicle already exists.
