Renault UK drivers are gearing up to defend their lead in the MSA British Manufacturers Rally Championship in North Wales.
The Bulldog International Rally will see three car manufactures go head-to-head through the demanding forest track to take the prestigious MSA title.
This year Renault will be joined by Ford and Citroen who will all be competing for the top prize. The first round saw the Renault Clio R3 team, which included Mark Donnelly and Dai Roberts, take top manufacturers' points as well as the Rallye Sunseeker International prize.
Their Clio driving colleague Peter Taylor and his co-driver Andrew Roughead came in fifth place and gained enough points to beat Citroen.
A late addition to the competition is the Ford Motor Company who signed up for the competition just before the deadline.
The concept of privateers awarding points to their chosen car adds a new dimension to the race, which should bring an added level of competitiveness to the proceedings both among competitors and manufacturers.
