Professional rally drivers Justin Dale and Andrew Bargery will be using a Twingo Renaultsport R2 Evolution in the opening round of the 2012 MSA British Rally Championship, it has been announced.
The latest model of the 1.6-litre Twingo will be a course car ahead of the main international event.
Renault UK's registration to the British Rally Championship is a mark of commitment to UK rallying by the French brand.
The Twingo has already been successful in its existing form at the Rallye Sunseeker International, as well as two Autosport Technology cars securing first and second place in 2011's Formula 2.
Renault Sport Technologies sales manager Jean-Pascal Jocou said: "We are keen to show off the new Evo version of the Twingo R2 and evaluate its performance on gravel.
"The British Rally Championship's move to a two wheel drive formula is important to Renault and we intend to be at the forefront with our range of cars."
Rallye Sunseeker International, the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship, gets underway at 6pm on February 24 with various stages throughout the day in the forests of north Bournemouth.
