RAC to pay thousands of toll fees

Thousands of lucky motorists will have their M6 toll fees paid for them by the RAC over the bank holiday weekend, the motoring organisation has announced.

The RAC is planning to reward those that choose to stay in the UK this bank holiday weekend by picking up the £4.70 charge for 3,000 motorists selected at random by M6 toll booth staff.

RAC patrols will also be offering a free tyre, oil and water checks at Norton Canes Motorway Services on the M6 Toll Road throughout the long weekend. And customers will have the opportunity to receive a 20% discount on breakdown cover when they purchase at the service station between junctions six and seven.

The RAC believes that the traffic is set to be as busy as it will be all year this weekend, as the bank holiday coincides with the school's half-term holidays. The motoring organisation predicts traffic on all major routes, which could rise if the weather is fair and families head for the coast.
